1/8/2021 review first: I had craving for chicken wings for many months but haven't acted on it until now. After seeing positive reviews from fellow Yelpers, I decided to try this place while they still had their discount for 6 wings for $7.99 because they just had soft opening. The menu looked interesting and so I took a chance at the 2 popular flavors and they did not disappoint, it was A-Side Alpha which is caramelized and sticky, jumbo wings made with Arbol chilies, garlic, and ginger and the Dirty Sand garlic, onions, and Serrano oil before being deep-fried which is then topped with fried jalapeños and onions. I was very blown away by the high quality wings and fragrant and standout flavors of the wings. And they weren't kidding to say jumbo wings because they are jumbo and both dishes filled me up for my dinner. Great hours for when I come out of work to commute toward downtown on the bus and then get back on bus to head out toward Daly City. Yes I do travel far for good food. Oh I have to say the pickle cabbage was the bomb! I normally don't care for this at other places, but I really enjoyed this one. I wish they could make a bigger container because I would like to eat more if it! LOL The prices are on the higher side, but you can see the love and time spent to making the dishes tastes unique and good when there are only two people working on your order and those who order online. So be patient with your order it takes them around 15-20 minutes to complete the order if you are ordering for one person. 7/16-2021- Well I came back here again about 7 months later for the Yelp 415 special this time for their new chicken bowl! How exciting to be back! I went with the orange chicken bowl which sounded safe, but not boring at all! I did toy with the idea of the Asian Jerk spicy flavor but I didn't want to take a chance on it being too spicy to burn a hole in my tummy, but it sounded good. So it's not your Panda Express or mama orange flavor chicken. It has a great vinegar kick to it that I really enjoyed. I let my mom try a piece and she said, wow that really is a great tasting chicken both sauce and preparation. I think she wanted my dinner, but she ate already. I guess I forgot to post my review earlier, but I can also now update that the location is temporary closed 2021 as the chef is looking for another permanent location for the Yummy wings! Being an entrepreneur is a tough business. Looking forward to viva la Wingslut!

Yay!!!! We finally got to try the place that we'd been looking forward to the most from the list of Yelp's 4.15 deals! On the last day too! Woot woot. My bf and I were stoked! It looked just as good as all the pictures I looked up before. The place is located outside the super cute Market Square grocery/cafeteria. It's the open door right next to HotBird! I got the nani the panda bowl and it was really good! Think fancy Panda E orange chicken? It's tangier and the breading is crispier which I love it's also topped with lots of colorful garnishings that added even more flavor. Loved that it also came with pickled veggies and ginger. Also loved that a good portion of rice was soaked with the sauce. Not overly so, just enough to really enjoy on its own! Boyfie got the jerk chicken and it was soooo flavorful and tender. I definitely loved trying it but my heart goes to the nani the panda bowl lol. But this one was my boyfriend's fav! I was just in a tangy mood and I feel like this was super opposite. It's smokey and spice-ful. The texture was also just perfect. Cooked well yet still the texture was satisfyingly tender. Really happy we got to give it a try. Forgot to take a picture but also got the Tamarind tea that the chef recommended! It was a nice light sweetness that went really well with our food. Also the chef was super nice! :) It was nice to chat for a bit and learn more about the business and how it's been doing. Loved also how they were promoting other businesses like Ox + Tail who took over the store the one day they were out. Happy to experience the comraderie and loved the food! Will defs be coming back here for more!

Had to check out WingSlut before the #yelp415deal ends tomorrow. At first I was going to go there for lunch and saw that they were only open for dinner. And now I know why: they use the same kitchen as HotBird (maybe same owners?). And HotBird is open for lunch only. To use the 415 deal, which is the rice bowl, you have to order there. The chef comes out and places the order for you. Otherwise, you have to order online. Oh, and don't use your work's internet when looking at the menu... I got flagged because of the word "slut"........ Even when trying to view the menu on the Yelp app (the website option). My order was ready in 10mins, and it was piping hot and fresh. There are two sauce options for the 415 deal, and I chose Nani the Panda, which is their take on orange chicken. It was really good! It also came with micro greens and pickled veggies. Being Filipino, I enjoy vinegary flavors, and the orange sauce with the veggies was packed with it. I'd like to come back and try their A-side Alpha sauce which I bet would compliment the veggies really well since the sauce is spicy. WingSlut is located in the open space between Twitter's two buildings. You can use the tables there, and there's a nice fire pit. I think the tables are owned by The Market, and they started putting them away close to 6pm. But I'm sure you can sit on the bench by the fire pit. Not sure if The Market puts the flame out at that time. I'm definitely coming back to try their A-Side Alpha sauce!

Had two kinds of wings from WingSlut and they were both pretty good. Had the A-Side Alpha and the Dirty Sand. The A-Side Alpha, made with chilies, garlic, and ginger, was spicy and sweet, just as promised. There was a slice of caramelized ginger that was fried along with the chicken that was delicious! Out of the two, this was my favorite. The pool of sauce that formed at the bottom of the paper tray was really gooey and thick, but outside of scooping it up with the wings, I really couldn't think of anything that I would dip in it. The Dirty Sand wings were "marinated with garlic, onions, and Serrano oil before being deep fried then crisped to perfection in a wok". I got them because they're supposedly gluten free. These were good, too, but a bit on the salty side for me. Each order of wings was $10.99 and was supposed to come with a cabbage slaw, but for the two orders I got, I only received one order of slaw. It would've been nice to get one container for each order; it would've helped to cut the saltiness and spice of the wings. But, that's okay... the friendliness of the chef made up for the disappointment of just finding one container when I got home! The address for pick up is for The Market in the Twitter Building, but it's actually done at the little doorway outside of the building, in the alley between The Market and the fitness facility on Tenth Street. It's a clean and pleasant alley (not your typical unsavory SF alley) with seating in case you want to sit and eat outside; there are chairs and tables that I'm pretty sure anyone can use. So, order your wings online and head on over to WingSlut for some delicious wings!

Haven't had fried chicken in so long and this hit the spot! The pickup process was seamless and the instructions on how to get there from Instagram were super helpful. The little alley with turf and seating are quite clean and would make a great spot to munch on food during the day for lunch. I had my order for pickup in the evening and to my surprise by the time I got home, the wings and fries were still hot and crispy (although I do admit there was a bit of oil leakage that soaked through the bottom, though food was all intact)! And when they mean jumbo size, they aren't kidding! I always eat a bowl of rice with my meals, so I got full off of eating two drumnettes. Two orders plus the fries were enough to feed a my parents and I (if you have rice on the side plus we had extras). I loved their A-Side Alpha flavor, sweet and tangy, plus the sauce went so well with the fries, and washed it all down with their fruity Virtue Tea. I would totally come back to try their other flavors!

I am obsess with how physically close this is to where I live that I know for sure I'll be trying more of their wings for sure. First impression first: I came in to THE MARKET and was confused on where to go and went to the filipino place and saw a sign to go to the back area near Blue Bottle. I scan the qr and order ahead which estimate a 20ish minute wait. I just walk there and waited. The order took some extra time because the first batch per them didn't turn out perfect so they had to redo it. It was super cold so I was a bit hangry but I totally understand since it's still in the early phase of trying to figure out the what and what and they want to give me the best they can. I did the 2 person-pack because I want to try 2 different favor but its actually all the food for ME LOL. I need someone to eat with T^T Dirty Sand was good and crunchy though I would like MORE jalapenos PLEASE. Murder me with spicy 4/5 V-Sauce - I gotta get that nuoc mam style you know ~ at first it was a bit intense so I didn't eat as much as the Dirty Sand (which I prefer) but then I save this for the next day. Pop it in the toaster oven and boy it taste super great overnight. IDK WHY. I think it's still tasty but I definitely need to be drinking a lot of water with this. 3/5 and then 4/5 the next day :O I really enjoy the pickle that came with it, I wish it was more though so can balance out the wings, I'd order extra next time. Virtue Tea: HOLA the TEA IS LIT. So good. Like I AM INTO THIS TEA. I thought it was gonna be some bottle tea or something but it's like housemade it seem. Definitely will get it everytime. Hope for a better experience next time when I try the other wing flavors :)

COVID-19 TAKEOUT With a name like WingSlut, I'm ALL over it! Supposedly, WingSlut is an actual thing, well, at least on Urban Dictionary. I've learned more on UD than reading the Encyclopedia Britannica collection and Buzzfeed After Dark articles. Ohhh so THAT's the Pretzel Dip?! ( o _ O ) I thought you were talking about Wetzel's cuz I'm always hungry! Born during COVID lockdown, WingSlut is offering Asian-inspired wings for takeout and delivery inside The Market in Twitter HQ (near Northern Ducks in the back). They currently have a soft opening promo - 6 wings for $7.99 (regularly $9.99). F L A V O R S (Housemade sauces) (1) A-Side Alpha w/ arbol chilies, garlic, ginger (2) Dirty Sand: Dry Rub Chinese Salt & Pepper Wings (3) Nani The Panda: Orange Chicken (4) V-Sauce: Vietnamese fish sauce w/ chili, garlic All wings come with a side of pickled veggies. You can also purchase a 2-person Pack: 12 wings w/ fries & drink for $28 or a Family Pack: 24 wings w/ fries & drinks for $54. I ordered for pickup via their website. With the promo deal, it was a good opportunity to try all four flavors. Plus, we gotta support as many small businesses as we can during this lockdown. F O O D The drummmettes and wingettes were meaty and moist. Despite the 15 minute drive home, they were still crispy. The two wings that maintained their crispness the longest: Dirty Sand and A-Side Alpha. * Dirty Sand: Dry Rub Chinese Salt & Pepper Wings My fav of the four - salty, peppery, and slightly spicy. You never go wrong with this classic chinese salt & pepper wings topped with jalapeños. It's simple and addictive. * A-Side Alpha w/ arbol chilies, garlic, ginger These San Tung inspired wings are sticky, salty, garlicky, and gingery with a kick of spice. The crunchiest of the four. * Nani The Panda: Orange Chicken An ode to Panda Express' orange chicken, these wings were citrusy sweet with fresh rind. They were a tad on the sweeter side for me though. * V-Sauce: Vietnamese fish sauce w/ chili, garlic Salty sweet umami with some funk and heat. Don't be afraid of that fish sauce funk! The accompanying pickled cabbage were crunchy and acidic to balance the fried goodness. S E R V I C E David, the owner was kind enough to bring out my order to me in the courtyard area because I couldn't find their storefront inside. Overall, WingSlut is off to a solid start serving flavorful, meaty wings. Def take advantage of their promo deal while you can! 4.5 stars rounded up.
